Plan USA: Video and latest update from Haiti, January 21, 2010

Yesterday, a powerful aftershock struck Haiti near Port-au-Prince, but thankfully most of our support staff are accounted for and continue to bring emergency aid to girls and boys affected by the devastating earthquake.

I am so thankful to everyone who has supported the children of Haiti – our latest video footage shows the faces of girls and boys who have been helped by your gifts. Due to your generosity, Plan is providing food, clean water, shelter, and other emergency supplies that can mean the difference between life and death:

Since the earthquake hit, Plan's response has included:
* Feeding 1,500 Haitian families every day for the past week;
* Distributing emergency shelter, including tents for more than 30,000 people in Jacmel and Croix de Bouquet;
* Providing kits with emergency supplies for more than 33,000 people; and
* Protecting children and providing psychosocial care especially to those who have lost or been separated from their families.

Thank you again for your support of girls and boys in Haiti, where children make up more than 46% of the population and are truly vulnerable in the aftermath of this crisis. Please take a moment to forward this video to your friends and family and ask them to join you in supporting our relief and recovery efforts by making a gift at www.planusa.org/haitiaid (https://www.planusa.org/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/1197453/tp/VE1HUj0xLHRpZD0xMTk3NDg5LA%3D%3D).
