New animated film EDIT: There's a real trailer now.

Hey, am I the only one who didn't know about this? It looks great! :D

First clip for Disney’s ‘Tangled’
Posted on June 10, 2010 in: Movies
Disney’s next big animated movie is Tangled, which is based on the fairy tale of Rapunzel.
The film features the voices of Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi (Chuck) as Rider, Steve Martin, Ewan McGregor and Donna Murphy.

The long-haired Princess Rapunzel has spent her entire life in a tower, but when she falls in love with a bandit who was passing by she must venture into the outside world for the first time to find him.

Disney are set to offer fans a sneak peek at the film, this, and as a pre-cursor to the preview the Disney Channel have aired some scenes during an ad for the special. The footage only lasts 15 seconds, but it does give us a glimpse of what to expect from the film – which looks like a LOT of laughs!

Tangled which is is directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard (the team behind Bolt) is due for a US release in November, followed by a UK release on January 28th… in 3D!

Now I'm even more excited! Haven't heard Ewan's dulcet tones yet, but I'm sure he'll be great.

I knew Ewan did this animated film, but hadn't seen this video of it yet. I hope we get a longer one soon.

Thanks Anika...
We did get a longer one! I added the link.

(I just gone home, and you've probably seen it by now, but just in case you haven't...)
i'd heard of the film but i hadn't heard anything about release dates yet. nice of them to tell us so soon! i'll definately go see it in the cinemas in 3D

thanks for the article and clip Anika :)
I will too, I love animation! And 3D is really cool. BTW, I added a link to a real trailer. The movie looks so cute. :D

You're welcome!
I will def go see this with my daughter. All the more reason now since Ewan has a voice part in it. I wonder who he voices in it.
The IMDb has his character's name listed as Plowden. Who, or what, that is, though, is anyone's guess. :D

I'm excited. I love animation. I'm looking forward to Jackboots on Whitehall a lot too. Did you like Valiant and Robots?
You know I haven't seen those two yet that I recall. I may have and just don't remember but I"ll have to to rent them for the kids to watch and so I can hear Ewans voice!

I do love Animation and the name Plowden is making me giggle. LOL.
Will it make you feel better if I said I didn't know about it? Of course, as much as I've been around, that's no surprise. I've missed so much! The end is in sight tho, I know it! *hopes*

Hi doll! Hope you are doing great! Mwah!
Liz!! *tackles and covers in smooches* How are you, my dear?? How lovely to see you around!

Yes, it actually does make me feel better that I wasn't the only who didn't know about this movie. I constantly forget to check all of the various sources of info. I'm excited about it, though, I think it looks really cute. I love animation.

Hope you can come back and play really soon. I miss you! Take good care of yourself.
OMG, the trailer was funny! AND with Ewan in it I guess I can't pass up on watching this :P
Isn't it funny? I think it looks really cute! I love animation. I can't wait to find out which character is Ewan's.
All I know so far is that his character's name is Plowden. But who, or what, that character is I have no idea.
I don't know, we'll just have to wait and see. I know Steve Martin is listed as part of the cast, and I imagine he has a main role, so you could be right. But some Ewan is better than no Ewan, right? :)
No...is it good?

(btw, have you joined Pam in the 'an icon for every opportunity' fanclub? ;)
I have a terrible icon addiction! LOL. The more I have, the more I want. I recently bought another icon package from LJ, so I've been adding a lot of new ones. I do like to use ones appropriate to the subject at hand. :D

Robots is great. It's really cute and funny. Of course Robin Williams, in typical Robin Williams fashion, kind of steals the show, but Ewan is still great.
Understandable, icons are great! Too bad they only have 15 userpics for the free account...

Robin Williams?? What business has he being the voice of characters?? (I really don't like him, you know)
Oh dear, you don't like him? I think he's hysterical. He puts a lot of effort into his characters, so they're always over-the-top and really funny. Oftentimes, he just ad libs the lines too. He was also great as the genie in Aladdin. Hmm, you might want to avoid Robots then because he has a big part in it. He and Ewan are the two main characters.
